If an opinion poll can be conducted concerning the matter of constitution making among the Kenyan whether they want the accomplishment of the constitution, they may answer that it is now or never. We have reached a point where we have to crack the nut as a country or live to reel it and in the process we might break it or mould it. The times are ripe moments and the chance is in the offing’s to replenish the country, give it a new lease of life with new constitution dispersion.

The shooting of 7 taxi drivers in Kawangware in Nairobi on 10th March, sent shock waves of anger and incensed the Kenyan public over this outrageous killings which was carried out by the Administration policemen. It was described as pure cold murder which was meted out on innocent civilians. According to the area Member of Parliament cabinet minister. Beth Mugo, she quieted the fatal shooting as pure cold blood murder of innocent taxi drivers on that Wednesday night which has elicited widespread condemnation and a public outcry against the police.

And in their characteristic manner, the police defended themselves by saying that they were responding to a distress call which prompted their response.

Over the years the Christian churches, especially the Catholic Church have been at the forefront advocating for the respect of sanctity of life. According to the Christian faith and cultural morale, life starts at the conception and that’s why they are totally against abortion. In their considered arguments, the mother who procures abortion and abortionists are murders because they commit a crime against humanity.

The church leaders have been advocating for the sanctity of life to be preserved in their day today sermons, thus they have been urging their congregations against these unbecoming vice of abortion. It’s a battle which the church leaders have been fighting.

Will the chairperson of the Truth Justice and reconciliation commission, Mr. Bethuel Kiplagat, survive the storm, pass the credibility test, shrug off the accusations which have been leveled against him and prove himself that indeed he is the credible for the job? Will he survive the on slaughter, stomach, the accusations, or, will he be crucified or currently he is a man on the spot facing tough tribulations? He is at the edge of the cliff, facing acid test.

While I hold no brief or barb for the chairperson, I do only sympathize with him as he tries to stay clear of the leveled allegations. The civil society lynch mobs are up in arms protesting, trying to block Mr. Kiplagat’s assumption to that job. They are baying for his exit.

Two years have lapsed since the formation of the Kenya’s Grand coalition Government. It was unique set up of a government, one of it’s own kind in Africa to ever been formed, due to a demanding and desperate situation. The winner takes a situation in a democratic democracy that was been challenged thanks to a disputed general election where the political rivals were forced to share the spoils in a coalition government.
